Liberty (A Touchstone Service)

Liberty, like worth and dignity, as we refer to in our first and sixth Unitarian Universalist principles, is inherent. In the Declaration of Independence, liberty is one of three inalienable rights. In this worship service, we’ll explore  the human condition called liberty. Back by popular demand, AFTERWORDS, an interactive discussion to further explore the topic, … Continue reading Liberty (A Touchstone Service)

Journey (A Touchstone Service)

While we often think of a journey as being something long and, sometimes, arduous, the original meaning of the word was limited to a day’s work or a day’s travel. There are different kinds of journeys and perhaps in any journey, we should value time more, and hold each day precious.

“We are all born naked…”

…and the rest is drag.” That’s a quote from RuPaul, America’s most famous drag queen and host of RuPaul’s Drag Race. What he means is that all of life is, in many ways, a performance. What can we learn from drag queens about authenticity and the labels we put on ourselves and others?

Happy Birthday 2900 Bridges St!

It has been one year since we’ve occupied our beautiful new building at 2900 Bridges Street! Today, we celebrate our accomplishments and reflect on the purpose this building–and this congregation–serves.

The Construction of Peace

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “There can be no peace in the world unless there’s justice, and there can be no justice without peace.” In other words, to construct a peaceful world, we must work toward a just world. Peace is not the absence of conflict: it is the presence of justice.

Welcome One and All

Today we welcome and learn more about our new members! Every new member teaches us something and helps us to grow–and brings us closer to Beloved Community. We’re eager to get to know our new friends and neighbors and learn how we can better serve.
