After the Hoophole Creek nature walk, several members of UCF joined others for the Hands Across the Sand event at Emerald Isle beach. Our Green Sanctuary Committee and other members of UCF have participated in this event for many years. Hands Across the Sand is an annual event held around the globe in silent solidarity to say NO to fossil fuels and YES to clean energy. 

This event was sponsored by Croatan Sierra Club, Crystal Coast Waterkeepers, Emerald Isle Realty and UCF Green Sanctuary Committee at the Emerald Isle Pier. The event is held every year on the third Saturday of May all across the nation and a few international sites, and our Green Sanctuary Committee and other members of UCF have participated many times over the years. (It was virtual during Covid.)
