Ready to get outdoors and enjoy the spring wildflowers? Plans are coming along well for this year’s UCF Spring Nature and Early Wildflower Walk on Saturday, April 23, from 2-4 pm. We will be meeting at 2 PM in Croatan National Forest. Our meeting location will be on Pringle Road, which is an unpaved (but well-maintained) Forest Service Road that heads north from NC 24, 10.5 miles west of the US 70/NC 24 intersection in Morehead City. If you are coming from Morehead City, you will turn right onto Pringle Road. If you are coming from Jacksonville/Swansboro/Cape Carteret, you will turn left onto Pringle Road. A sign marks the road entrance: Carteret County Solid Waste and Recycling Site. After a short distance on Pringle Road, you will see the recycling site on your right; just past the entrance to the site, you will find ample parking on the right side of the road, our meeting place.
Please check the Friday, April 22 issue of The Wave for additional details. In the meantime, if you plan to join us on the 23rd, please email Tom Wentworth at [email protected] (that’s tom[underscore][email protected]), so he can better plan for the trip and send email updates to participants. Sponsored by UCF Adult RE and Green Sanctuary Committees. Welcome Spring!
