All children and youth are welcome in our new space in the Sally B. White Center right beside the church. We have room now to spread our wings with a much larger nursery and children/youth room. The theme for the nursery room is “Under the Sea” with a beachy wall mural with lots of sea life happening. We also have a new children/youth room with lots of activities, supplies, and spiritual exploration opportunities.
Nursery
Children ages 6 months through 3 years old are welcome to come to the Nursery Room for inquisitive interactive playtime, reading, and art. The nursery operates from 10 am until the end of service every Sunday. It is very important for us to make sure that your children are comfortable and feel safe during their time with us in our Fellowship. There will be two adults playing with your children during this time.
You will be asked to register your child and provide your cell phone number in case your child needs you during the service. Please have your phones on vibrate as we will text you that your child needs you. If you do not have a phone we will have someone contact you to come to the nursery. You will be required to sign your child(ren) in and out of the nursery.
The Quiet Place
The Quiet Place is a soundproof room in the Sanctuary with a one-way mirrored window where you can see the chancel, the reverend, choir, and worship associate during the service. Anyone can use this room at any time during the service if there is a need for a quiet place for adults to hear the service a little better as the service is piped in with an adjustable audio sound system and parents, you can also take your children into The Quiet Place if you feel they would like to move around a little more. There is a basket of manipulatives, and coloring books that will help keep them busy while you listen to the service. Please know that having your children/youth in the sanctuary is a true way for them to understand the spiritual connections of being a UU.
Children and Youth – ages 4–18-years-old:
At this time, children that are four-years-old and older will be in the sanctuary for the whole service and listen to the Time for All Ages.
