Wes Whitehurst

Many of you are already familiar with Wes Whitehurst from his pledging testimonial from the pulpit as a new member of our congregation. I was really inspired by what he had to say and very happy to interview him over a 2 hour lunch for this greatly condensed interview! Wes graduated from West Carteret High School in June 2020 and while there, he played the trumpet in the Marching Band. He also achieved his Eagle Scout award while he was in high school, and his project involved the Maritime Museum Boat House walking trail in Beaufort. Wes will be graduating from Carteret Community College with an AA degree soon. He would like to become an author and he is working on a book about supernatural beings which sounds quite exciting! He works at Clawson’s part time to pay for school. Wes said he was happy to find a congregation where the core beliefs were the same as his, especially on inclusivity. He enjoys the like-minded people he meets here and the lack of hypocrisy among our congregants. We are so happy to welcome Wes to the Unitarian Coastal Fellowship!
