All set up for the Service

Sunday, September 12th couldn’t have been a more beautiful day to have a UCF service in the pavilion at Fort Macon, looking out at Beaufort inlet and the Atlantic Ocean.  This was the first time that we have gathered for a service in person since March of 2020 – and it was a joyous time.  It was a hybrid service with 16 people joining us on Zoom, in the capable hands of Tom Wentworth, Zoom-master, and 43 attending in person.

Music Team: Ron White, Tom Cullison, Meganne Smith

Rev. Michelle Ma came up with this idea and it took a village to pull it off – but pull it off they did.  Music included recorded selections, group singing of “Return Again” by the congregation, and our favorite hymn “Blue Boat Home” sung by Ron White who accompanied himself on the guitar.  Thank you to Tom Cullison, Meganne Smith and Ron for the wonderful music.

The technology seemed to work really well, with everyone able to hear the speakers using portable amplifiers.  Rev. Ma and Marilynn Cullison did the service which was titled “The Sea Touches All Shores” and included our traditional mingling of the Waters of Ministry we collected during the past year.  Even those on Zoom were able to contribute their “virtual waters”.  I heard nothing but rave reviews from those who attended.

I think all of those who attended either in person or on Zoom want to say a big thank you to everyone who made this happen!
