UU the Vote Postcard Campaign

UCF committed to write 1000 Get Out the Vote postcards – 50 kits with 20 postcards in each! We easily reached our goal and the postcards are being written with a “Mail Date” of October 13th. The postcards are non-partisan and go to voters of color in North Carolina to give them information about early voting and encourage them to vote. They are handwritten with decorations on them to catch the interest of the receiver. We are working with UU Justice NC on this project and they are, in turn, working with Reclaim Our Vote, a nationwide organization. Reclaim our Vote has tested this work and found that it has been very successful in getting out the vote.

Voter Registration Drive at Carteret Community College

Once again, UCF co-sponsored this annual event that is organized by the League of Women Voters of Carteret County. It was held from September 19 through September 22. Our role is to help provide volunteers to register voters at three different locations at the college. It was a very successful
event, and we had 6 volunteers from UCF that assisted with registering 50 new voters!
