June is Pride Month and it is a time to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, commemorate the community’s history and honor the community’s continued fight against discrimination. Pride is a powerful public platform for people to celebrate who they are and build a sense of community and belonging. Pride is also a critical time to highlight the need for continued activism and solidarity given the barrage of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and executive actions. With the Human Rights Campaign declaring a national state of emergency for LGBTQ+ Americans, our advocacy and solidarity are as important as ever.
UCF has lots of activities planned for the month of June. :
Our Sunday Service on June 7th will be a celebration of Pride:

We will have a table at the Pride in the Park event on 6//13.

We will remember and honor those who came before us:

PULSE REMEMBRANCE DAY – June 12th, 2026
Ten years ago, on June 12, 2016, nearly 300 people were celebrating Latin Night atPulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, when a gunman entered and senselessly took the lives of 49 people and shattered the lives of so many others. Pulse was more than a cherished LGBTQ+ nightclub. It was a place of safety, community, chosen family, and a place where everyone could be their authentic selves. As we honor the memory of the 49 innocent Pulse victims and those who were forever changed on June 12, 2016, let us also continue to show the world through our words and actions that love always wins.

Stonewall Day celebrates the LQBTQ+ Rights Movement and honors the legacy of the Stonewall Uprising in New York in 1969. While these uprisings do not mark the first instance of LQBTQ+ resistance, they served as a call to action for many people and are commemorated each year with Pride parades and festivals around the globe!
